At Feel More Human, we're as passionate about our editorial content as we are about finding a great new line of products. We eat up articles about design trends and the latest in sustainable solutions and how all of these issues impact us as humans.

We are looking to build a broad network of contributing writers around the globe. To get a wide perspective and see what's going on through the eyes of those experiencing it. We can't be everywhere and connect with everyone, so we want your insights and intimate knowledge of local markets and specifics about your industry that we could not possibly know. To put it bluntly: we want a bigger voice than what the Feel More Human staff can provide alone.

You don't need much experience. Or any, really. You just need to have a point-of-view that'll bring attention to things that are important to you. You should have a fairly continuous flow of inspiration and ideas, a love of writing along with a pretty good grasp on grammar and that kind of stuff. Appreciation and enthusiasm for design, the design process and the environment go a long way, too.

What topics do you want me to cover?
Green businesses – entrepreneurs, corporations, non-profits
Modern design – product design, ergonomic design, cutting edge areas in design
Modern architecture and interior design – both commercial and residential examples
Organic health and beauty – ingredients, tips
Food and agriculture – farming practices, recipes, guides
Modern eco fashion – fashion designers, fashion industry trends
Green building practices – products, ideas, certifications
New technologies – renewable energy, transportation, electronics
Sustainable product design – consumer packaged goods
Companies and individuals devoted to "doing good"

You get the idea. We're open to hearing your ideas and suggestions as well, so use these as a starting point.

And we'll just go ahead and say it: the write-ups can't be salesy, sound like an advertorial, be a pulpit for a political or religious stance and cannot contain blatant self-promotion.

How frequently would I need to contribute?
We want your pieces to be original, compelling and well thought-out, so it depends on the type of story you're doing (see below). For longer features, ideally, 2x/month. For shorter posts, ideally 4x/month.

What are your editorial classifications and word counts?
There are two types of articles we’re seeking: features and posts.

Features are longer-form articles to educate and inspire readers. They're more in-depth and rich and bring awareness to companies, causes or people most folks would not otherwise know about. They must include quotes from interviewed sources and establish a flow and rhythm to hold readers' attention. Word count: 400-700

Posts are more similar to blog entries. They may spotlight an interesting product, a contemporary building, a green business owner, etc. And like features, they should include a quote or two to give the write-up a more human vibe. Word count: 150-200.

Sounds great! Now what?
Send us an email to introduce yourself including any experience or credentials you have in that field. Please let us know how often you'll be able to contribute.

Include 2-3 writing samples. If you don't have any samples, prepare a brief write-up about the type of content you're proposing for Feel More Human. If you have multiple ideas, send them all. Be sure to inform us if you're thinking it's suited for a feature or a post, or perhaps even part of a series.
